Frequently Asked Questions

To use the facilities, you must be aged 8 or over.

Responsible Pay and Play adults can take 6 and 7 year olds in double sit on kayaks.

Everyone who takes part in any activities must be water confident and be able to swim 50m in a buoyancy aid.

Open Water Swimmers must be able to swim at least 200m unaided.

Yes, if you have prior experience and competence. You can hire sit on Kayaks and Stand Up Paddleboards under Pay and Play.

Yes, we teach people of all abilities

  • T-shirt and shorts or tracksuit
  • Trainers or wetsuit boots ( no open toe sandals or flip-flops
  • Wetsuit (optional)
  • Towel, shampoo & 20p for the lockers

 

The Centre will provide the following:

  • Buoyancy aid
  • Windproof cag
  • Wetsuit*
  • Helmet

*Wetsuits will only be provided for Sailing & Windsurfing.

You can hire a wetsuit for kayaking/Canoeing/swimming/paddleboard

Yes there are changing and shower facilities with lockers to store your personal belongings at a cost of 20p.

Yes, we have a meeting room available with a maximum capacity of 10-15 people. Please call 0151 708 9322 for further information

There is no charge for equipment – only wetsuits if you want them for paddlesports, the price per hour you pay includes tuition and usage of equipment.

Yes, people with disabilities can take part in most activities depending on the individual needs, please advise Centre staff of individuals needs when making a booking. 0151-708-9322.

We have a Wheelyboat which can take wheelchair users onto the water.

Yes, our onsite cafe is Fika, serving hot and cold food.

Friday: 10am – 4pm
Saturday: 9am – 5pm
