How old do I have to be?
You must be age 8 or over
Responsible pay and play adults can take 6 and 7 year olds in double sit on kayaks.
Do I need to be able to swim?
Everyone who takes part in any activities must be water confident and be able to swim 50m in a buoyancy aid.
Open Water Swimmers must be able to swim at least 50m unaided.
Do you teach beginners?
Yes, we teach people of all abilities
What do I need to bring with me?
- T-shirt and shorts or tracksuit
- Trainers or wetsuit boots ( no open toe sandals or flip-flops )
- Wetsuit ( optional )
- Towel,shampoo & 20p for the lockers
The Centre will provide the following :-
- Buoyancy aid.
- Windproof cag.
* Wetsuits will only be provided for Sailing & Windsurfing.
You can hire a wetsuit for kayaking/Canoeing/swimming/paddleboarding for 5 pounds if you would like to.
Is there any charge for equipment?
There is no charge for equipment only wetsuits if you want them for paddlesports, the price per hour you pay includes tuition and usage of equipment.
Are there changing & shower facilities?
Yes there are changing and shower facilities with lockers to store your personal belongings,they cost 20p.
Not at the minute due to coronavirus.
Can I hire a boat and go out on my own?
Yes if you have prior experience and competence.
Can people with disabilities participate in activities?
Yes, people with disabilities can take part in most activities depending on the individual needs, please advise Centre staff of individuals needs when making a booking. 0151-708-9322.
We have a Wheelyboat which can take wheelchair users onto the water.
Do you have catering facilities?
Yes in the coffee bar at end of the centre with Wifi, great for birthday parties.
