Liverpool Watersports Centre offers a range of activities, both for individuals and groups. You can learn a new skill in either sailing, kayaking, canoeing, windsurfing, stand Up Paddle boarding or powerboating being taught by one of our instructors or you can hire equipment what we call pay & play.
Our hourly sessions start at 9.30am,10.45am,12pm,1pm,2.15pm,3.30pm later sessions in the summer months can be arranged. In the summer we are open 7 days from Easter to the end of September, then 5 days in the winter.
We operate Swan Pedalos from our centre in Queens Dock. These are available to rent for £20 for 30 minutes you can book them online via our book now tab on the homepage You'll be able to enjoy a spectacular view of the waterfront and experience it with up to 4 people- fun for all the family.
Our Kayak and Canoe sessions allow you to experience the docks like you've never seen them before! You can learn the fundamentals with one of our instructors who will guide you through the basic techniques-showing you how to launch, paddle forwards, turning ,stopping and how to get out without capsizing! You may even paddle through the dock system into the Albert Dock and back if the conditions allow.
Enjoy the thrill and excitement of powerboating whilst taking in the views of the Liverpool docks. We offer 1 hour fun rides around the South Liverpool dock system in our 5 metre tornado rib 75HP,it can take up to 4 persons at a time.
We do have a wheelyboat too which can take up to 6 wheelchair users onto the water.
We also deliver the Royal Yachting Association level 1 and 2 powerboat courses and we offer 1 to 1 tuition in our boats.
Our Aqua Park is especially great for individuals or groups such as families, work colleagues, friends, kids football teams, stag/hen parties,birthday parties, scouts, girl guides and schools. You can race your friends on the inflatable track climbing over the obstacles & have a quick bounce upon the trampoline before racing onto the extreme slide or jumping off the jungle Jim. After your session you can get a hot shower in our changing rooms and enjoy a warm drink or snack in the café. Free onsite parking for customers.
Stand Up Paddleboarding is the fastest growing watersports and it’s quite easy to pick up.You can paddle through the dock system into Liverpool's Royal Albert Dock and back, working on core fitness, strength and general larking about on the water. Come down and meet like minded people and enjoy the docks on a weekend or summers night.
Open water swimming is a brilliant way to get fit, reduce stress, meet new like minded people and have fun. Even better, at Liverpool Watersports Centre, you'll have the opportunity to swim in Liverpool's historic docks.
Our Wheelyboat was launched on the 12th of April. This is the first fully accessible powerboat at the centre and the roll-on, roll-off access of the boat allows seating for up to 10 adults including 6 wheelchair users! It offers flexible seating, an open level deck and a watertight bow door that lowers to form a solid ramp for easy and safe wheelchair friendly access.
Liverpool Watersports Centre offers Dinghy Sailing and Windsurfing to people of all abilities both adults and children. Our sailing fleet include a drascombe longboat, wayfarer, picos, toppers and oppies.Our windsurf equipment is ideal for beginners we have 2.5m,3.5m,4.5m tushingham sails.
Our venue in Queens Dock is ideal for beginners starting out as we are sheltered and operate all year.
Our senior instructors are very experienced and passionate about sailing they like sharing their knowledge to customers.
Come along to Liverpool Watersports Centre and hire a sit on kayak or stand up paddleboard for an hour or two through our Pay and Play scheme. You can book online or call up to reserve your craft and rent one of our available boats throughout the day to take in the picturesque views that Liverpool has to offer. You can paddle through the historic docks into the Albert Dock from our Queens Dock base and return.
